Title: "FREEDOM and JUSTICE"
In late June 2026, torrential rains hit Accra, the capital of Ghana, causing widespread flooding in the Agbogbloshie district. The facility that Magao Nagasaka has used as his base of operations was also severely damaged. This artwork was created collaboratively by Mago Nagasaka, YouTuber ISSEI, and BONBO STARS, with the aim of supporting the restoration of the damaged base.
Depicted in the center of the canvas is Kwame Nkrumah, the founding father of Ghana. He was the figure who led Ghana to independence from colonial rule in 1957, the first sub-Saharan African nation to achieve this.
In this work, Nkrumah is portrayed standing before the oncoming torrents, symbolizing the protection of the city and its people. On the left side of the canvas is the "Moon Tower," a monument created by Mago Nagasaka along with the residents of Agbogbloshie, filled with prayers for peace.
Nagasaka was responsible for the composition and concept, and he painted it with the artists of BONBO STARS, with ISSEI also participating in the creation. The city scarred by the flood, the desire for peace, and the will for regeneration. This work, by superimposing Ghana's history and present, depicts people moving forward again, and is a work that symbolizes "MAGO GALLERY AGBOGBLOSHIE."
