A project is underway to erect a "Tower of the Moon" in Expo Commemoration Park (Suita City, Osaka Prefecture) during the Osaka-Kansai Expo from April to October 2025, so that it will be visible alongside the "Tower of the Sun," the symbol of the 1970 Expo. The project will be undertaken by visual artist Shingo Nagasaka, who will also be responsible for the art of the Jellyfish Pavilion, one of the eight core signature pavilions of the 2025 World Expo.
From the 23rd of this month to November 4th, the "Nagasaka Shingo Exhibition - Still A BLACK STAR -" will be held at the Hankyu Umeda Main Store (Kita-ku, Osaka City), where about 150 pieces of work such as these will be exhibited. "My goal is to employ 10,000 Ghanaians by 2030 and eliminate slums from the world," says Nagasaka. "Tower of the Moon" is one stepping stone to that goal.
