To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the founding of Barneys New York Yokohama store, the Yokohama store will exhibit and sell artwork by artist Nagasaka Mago, who continues to create art from electronic waste discarded by developed countries including Japan.
Mr. Nagasaka sublimates the waste collected in Agbogbloshie, a slum in Ghana, which is said to be one of the world's largest graveyards of electronic devices, into his own works, and uses the power of art to convey the truth of capitalism to the world. In addition, we continue to use the funds raised from the sales of our works to help educate local people and improve the environment. During the period, we will be introducing a number of works including new works created especially for this event. In addition, Mr. Nagasaka will visit the store and hold a talk show on the following dates.
