[Exhibition Contents]
This exhibition will showcase the trajectory of Mr. Nagasaka's creative activities through approximately 100 to 150 works, ranging from his childhood sketches to new pieces made from waste materials in Agbogbloshie, Ghana.
The indoor exhibition will feature an installation recreating a slum in Ghana, inviting visitors to appreciate the artworks within this unique setting. Additionally, works made from recycled glass and pottery created in the workshop during the artist-in-residence period from July will also be displayed. How the experiences and memories gained during his time in the forest are expressed in his work is one of the major highlights of this exhibition.
For the outdoor exhibition, plans are underway to create "Moon Tower" and "E-waste Tree," which originated in Agbogbloshie. "Moon Tower" will be recreated with the cooperation of local junior high school students and community volunteers. Shohei Hishida, a carpenter artist known for his exceptional talent and unique worldview both in Japan and internationally, is also scheduled to participate in the creation of these outdoor works.
