At Nihonbashi Takashimaya SC, we will be holding the "World of Waste Art Works - Sustainable Art Exhibition Connecting to the Future" from December 14th (Thursday) to December 22nd (Friday), 2023, as an opportunity for you to feel closer to the SDGs. Masu.
SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are comprised of 17 international goals adopted at the 2015 United Nations Summit with the aim of creating a "sustainable society" that leaves a better environment for the future. At present, such efforts are becoming more and more necessary, and this exhibition will introduce artists who represent "sustainable art" as an opportunity to get closer to the SDGs.
Nowadays, there are many artists who present works with environmental issues as their theme, but this time we will introduce three artists who use waste materials as materials - three-dimensional works that uniquely capture the beauty and nature of living things using only waste paper cardboard. Taki Tamada, who creates works; Mago Nagasaka, who creates works using e-waste and other waste to improve the human rights and environmental issues of people living in Ghana's slums; and create full-size animals using waste materials. We are focusing on Mr. Seiya Kaji.
All of their works are approachable and can be enjoyed by people of all ages and genders, and we hope that they will serve as an opportunity to understand and work towards the SDGs.
